ISLAND PARK — The seeds of a new annual community event were planted in a meeting at OutBack Realty Wednesday, July 16. The event will be called the Island Park Community Fundraiser, and this year, it will be held on Saturday, August 30 at the Sawtelle Mountain Resort Pavilion. Wolves are back on endangered list, hunts halted

ISLAND PARK — It looks like the fall wolf hunt is off.

A federal judge has restored endangered-species protections for gray wolves in the Northern Rockies, halting plans by three states to hold public wolf hunts in the fall. U.S. District Judge Donald Molloy in Missoula granted a preliminary injunction late Friday, July 18, restoring wolf protections in Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming.
